Hello, The temporary ordination program conducted by Buddhistcc is a very good one. It is carried on at the Dekanduwala meditation centre which is in Horana. It is not a meditation retreat but an over all training in dhamma which runs according to a daily schedule consisting of studies, meditation, ...

I started learning to swim about a year and half ago. Tried to go to pool at least thrice a week. It works really well. Normally i swim 10-20 laps in freestyle to warm up and then speedy 100m sessions in both free style and breast stroke. Cant go more than 2 laps in Back stroke and butterfly. Thinki...

No he lives by himself. Lived in the Laggala area for many years and now in 'tanna' Balangoda. Recently he came to belihuloya aranya for just a few days and went back. A very senior and much respected monk among the forest tradition.

You will learn sinhala quickly. I have met several western monks who speaks singhalese fluently. You can learn fast when you are here but it is always good to have a bit of preparation.

I went to Nauyana aranya and Kanduboda last week. In fact i got to travel 3 days with a Czech monk from Nauyana.
