Re: Comedy shows
The best sitcom for me at the moment is Modern Family. I laugh so hard watching that show at times it feels like I'm going to pass out. Sadly I actually like Two and a Half Men. Now that Charlie Sheen has been fired I probably won't watch it anymore. When a main character leaves a show, in most case...

Re: Brian's Self-Help Book Gets Ripped
I thought the episode was very funny. I remember my friend telling me over and over you have got to read The Secret. According to him it had the answer to all lifes problems. He eventually sent me a copy, and I must admit I was intrigued when I read it. A lot of it made sense, but at the same time I...

Re: ooo, music
It worked Thank goodness synth pop never went out of style outside of the US during the 90's.retrofuturist wrote:Greetings David,
It may have been grim in the U.S., but hopefully this counter-perspective might cheer you up...
Hopefully they work.
Take care,

Re: ooo, music
It's amazing how little guitar/keyboard crossover there was in American music during the 90s.... bands like MGMT, The Killers, Dandy Warhols, The Bravery (and Animal Collective as well, I assume) and so on are bucking that trend. I couldn't agree more. I loved the synth pop of the 80's and then cam...

Re: Dog Behaviourist - Blatant self-promoting!
Fede, I have a great dog. He's a seven year old Tibetan Spaniel I've had since he was eight weeks old. The only problem is he's afraid of thunder. I mean really afraid. Once he hears thunder he starts to bark, if it continues he can get so scared he starts to shake. Thunder is the only thing that m...

Re: Retro's Rockers
Does anyone want to make a bet that Pet Shop Boys is going to be # 1? Or it could be Carter USM? So which is it Retro you're taking too long to get to #1
BTW Retro what do you think of La Roux? I can't get enough of them, being I'm a big 80's synth pop fan.
Take care,
David

Re: Bah humbug!
I like Christmas for the most part. I do all my shopping online and don't bother with Walmart and malls. Instead I get the gifts delivered to my door. I can even get them wrapped before they are shipped. The problem I'm having this year is I'm snowed in. We got a huge winter storm, and I don't know ...

Re: Help with Buddhist History
I dislike the title, but Buddhism For Dummies gives a great account of Buddhist History. It also gives an account of how each school came to be, and brief bios of some great teachers.

I only celebrate as the same reason as you. It's time to spend with family. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't celebrate it at all.

Re: E-sangha news
I tried to join the Buddhist Community twice and had no success. The email that was supposed to be sent to join never came. I checked to make sure I had entered the correct email address and I had. I believe there is something wrong with the Buddhist Community. It seems someone has intentionally att...
Re: E-Sangha
Not only that. Google's now flagging e-sangha as a site that can harm your computer. Perhaps there has been a history of somebody using e-sangha to inject malware into other people's pc's. Indeed. Going to the e-sangha.com address this message now comes up... Reported Attack Site! This web site at ...
