Reading just the Tipitaka

Is it alright to read just the Tipitaka? I feel I have already read a lot, it's not often that I encounter something new and inspiring. I never read the Tipitaka, maybe that will be it? Or would I be missing out? What do you think?

Re: Fear of becoming a boring person

"Living in the world and practicing meditation, you will seem to others like a gong that has not been struck and is not producing any sound. They will consider you useless, mad, defeated; but actually, just the opposite is true." "People outside may call us mad to live in the forest ...

Pressure in my head, dizziness while meditating

Sometimes when I'm meditating, if I try real hard to be at peace (which is wrong, I know), I feel this pressure round my forehead and also dizziness sometimes. Now, what is it? It feels like something is going out, like tension maybe? Or is it just because I was forcing meditation a lot? Thanks in a...

No intention = no kamma?

I was reading a book by Ajahn Brahm, and he mentioned this guy who pushed his friend into the water as a child; his friend drowned. It got me thinking if he is to be blamed for his friend's death or not. He had no intention of doing it, but pushing him into the water was not a very nice thing to do,...
