All about Paccekasambuddhā

Can I get as much Sutta and commentarial literature about the characteristics of a Paccekasambuddha and Paccekasambuddhahood and how it differs from Arahantship and Sammāsambuddhahood?

I want to compile as much as I can about them.

Looking for a Sutta... Knowledge of Evil

I remember there being a Sutta about how Ignorance of an action being immoral is more dangerous than knowing it is immoral, because it increases the frequency of offending, and another Sutta that talks about how knowing about evil and doing it anyway without shame can cause a greater impact on your ...

Deva sees monks meditating Sutta?

There's a Sutta where a Deva laments over a bunch of monks in Meditation saying they're doing something so difficult so hard it's so hard. Then the Buddha explains their resilience to them. I don't remember where in the Samyutta Nikāya it is I'm but I thought it was there but I can't find it. Anyone...

Eighty Minor Marks in Pāli literature

I found in the Āpadana and the Milinda Pañha mention of the Eighty Minor Marks of the Buddha and found a Sanskrit version of the Eighty Marks in the Āgamas but what are the Eighty Secondary Characteristics of the Buddha in Pāli?

Re: Does dāna (generosity) imply some level of dependence/commitment?

There are more than one way of Practice of Dāna. If you are generous with material goods it is the lowest form of Dāna. A higher form of Dāna is to give fearlessness by agreeing to follow and abide by the precepts. This way you renounce all forms of violence and bad behavior and thus all beings are ...

Re: corrupt view of arhants ability by non arhants

I wouldn't just state your opinion as if it were factual. If you think this is the case bring Canonical evidence and if there is no Canonical evidence then it can, and will, be rightfully dismissed by anyone else as just being your opinion, which while it feels valuable to you, to one Practicing the...

The Buddha as a Doctor

I'm trying to compile some Suttas in the Pāli Canon and the Agamas where the Buddha is compared to a doctor and gives his disciples advice on Sickness and Pain or heal them with Dhamma talks So far there's most of the Bojjhaṅgā Suttas. One where he visits Mahā Kassapa, One where he is sick and is re...

Re: Who is a Theravadin?

I don't know what you are talking about, I study a liturgical language and read all the Abhidhamma teachings, and Practice all things a Theravada Buddhist does. Am I still a Theravada Buddhist? Probably, but what does this have to do with self appellation? Some people call themselves that because th...
