Re: What is "mind"?
... Taught in this way demolishes the idea that the "mind" is self. Like self the "mind" is unpinnable. and how should one be taught? through theorising? conceptualizing? pondering? thinking? chasing another's experience? and if all that is needed to do is to go around saying, &...

Re: What is "mind"?
mind that sees or experiences cannot be feelings or mental formations but "something" apart from them. One cannot see oneself - at most only one's reflection which is not the same thing. with insight, the mind can turn in on itself. it can "see" its exact makeup and components. ...

Re: What is "mind"?
Mind seeing mind is like saying I am talking to myself. mind seeing the mind... here the latter mind i believe LP was referring to the 4 out of the 5 aggregates, which is just conventionally called the mind (feelings, mental formation, perception and consciousness), it means one must train to such ...

Re: What is "mind"?
here is a quote from LP Dune Atulo. The mind sent outside is the origination of suffering. The result of the mind sent outside is suffering. The mind seeing the mind is the path. The result of the mind seeing the mind is the cessation of suffering. i find the issue with many people, is this confusio...

threads like these is like arguing whose gift wrapping skills are the best.
just give the gift.
who cares how it is gift wrapped.
as long as the recipient receives it.

Re: Why can we just let go?
there are many kinds of "letting go". first through submission. you accept and let go. second through repression. you don't accept but you suppress and let go. third through disregard. you neither not accept nor accept, you just don't care and let go. the last through penetrating the 4 nob...
