Re: Has anyone else here completely quit social media (minus this forum, obviously)

I've reached my end with social media. I only have Reddit and Instagram, but I'm finding that the platforms (and social media as a whole) is far too toxic for me. The amount of hostility I witness every day on social media is not only unnecessary, but completely unhealthy. If you use the web via a ...

Re: requesting help from devas

Hi JC, how is this done? i see people talk about not relying on devas etc, but never have i been taught, outside of a christian perspective, how to actually ask a deva for help or whatever it is that is done. In the Atanatiya Sutta (DN. 32) the Buddha gives the names of those devas who have vowed t...

Re: Been meditating for 51 years. Greetings!

Re: In your view, understanding, Parinibbana is:

I took it as annihilation. That got to be depressing. At some point I found/was told about sutta references where it is stated that it is not annihilation, it can not be described, and it is the ultimate happiness. So now, I take it as "I will not understand it as long as I am alive, but it is ...

Re: Renvovated And Updated Ajahn Brahm Discussion Forum

To be honest, it looked like a forgotten discussion group when I became one of the moderators about two days ago.

Since I put all of the work I mentioned into the group the number of subscribers when from 213 subscribers to 296 subscribers.

Nicely done chart.

I don't see any similarities between the items you put side by side.

I don't think the two fine things you are comparing are similar at all.

Re: What is the magic trick to open your hips?

Great idea for a thread! Thanks to everyone who posted resources. I too, would like to get back to sitting on the floor again someday. I've found that tight buttock muscles also prevents "hip hinging". Hip hinging is bending from your hip joints to roll your pelvis forward enough to get th...
