Re: New Meditator seeks guidance

To add more confusion, there is the debate on how we should see vipassana. According to many, vipassana and samatha are not different practices, but states of mind. When they [the suttas] depict the Buddha telling his disciples to go meditate, they never quote him as saying "go do vipassana,&q...

Re: Is all doubt bad?

if you have doubt, attempt to prove it is true or not. if its true, that become faith.
but the truth is proving something is not as simple as that.

Re: Rare human incarnation

So we're only evolving physically then? Not mentally or spiritually? Is this cos there's scientific evidence for the former? If so then I want to see the scientific evidence of the six realms of existence and of re-birth in general. there's fewer Ariyas nowadays. scientific evidence of another real...

Re: How to deal with accusations against my practices

You may want to point out classical Christian meditation books like St. John of the Cross’ The Dark Night of The Soul. It is my understanding that Christian stages of meditation are mapped out remarkably similar to the Buddhist in their fundamentals. yes. Bernadette Roberts learn from St. John of t...
