Re: Buddhist Text for Non-Buddhist?

Thanks for the wealth of recommendations. I'm going to give her a few choices and see what she likes best.

She asked if I had any books to loan her so that she could learn more about what it is that I believe and practice. I have a few hard-copy books, but I am afraid that they may not be what she is looking for. I was...

Re: Random SQL errors

There won't be any ads here, rest assured. If we need more storage or bandwith space, I will cover the cost or there could be a dana collection at some point in the future, if necessary, but right now we are only using a small fraction of our allowed storage and bandwith space. I’d rather pay a small fee than have to put up with ads.

Re: E-Sangha

When E-Sangha gets back up and running, it would be cool if you guys would stick around and post here too. It's been nice the past few days with the activity spike. Metta Jack Agreed. There are new discussions appearing all over the board. I bid welcome to all E-Sangha refugees! I hope they...

Re: Focus.

I also think it would behove me to take breaks away from the constant draws on my attention and occasionally settle into someplace quiet where I cannot be reached. Well said. Depending on the task you’re trying to complete, you should find places where distractions are minimal. Fact: public librari...

What is this design?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but does anyone know what this design is? I think it’s really neat, but can’t find a name or a larger version of it anywhere online. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :anjali:

Re: Doing Time, Doing Vipassana

Has anyone ever seen the Dhamma Brothers movie? I was thinking about buying the DVD, but I don’t know much about it besides what I saw in the trailer and read from a couple of professional critic reviews. Some critics panned it for cheesy reenactments, but praised it for its message. Any thoughts o...

Re: Extraverts in Buddhism?

Wow. I’ve re-written a response to this thread about 15 times now. I wish I knew why it was so hard for me to write responses for this forum… Anyway, I’m mainly an introvert, but I can turn into an extravert if I’m in a comfortable crowd of people or doing some activity that I enjoy. My Dhamma study...
