this is what i remember about the sutta:

budhha met a group of monks that he found their mind is agitated and he instruct them to imagine some beautiful visuals. After a while those monks become more calm and concentrated.

i'm getting sceptical even if it was a sutta.

imagination in theravada

i think i read a sutta which buddha give some monks instruction about imagination, but i cant found that now, do you know anything about imagination practice in theravada or it was something in different tradition.

I - keep remembering about observing ,knowing, noting of four frames of reference
II - being present in this moment

as you know these two ( wisdom ) you need to practice (mindfulness) and morality ( sila ) again and again ( effort ) to maintain stability of the mind ( samadhi ).

nothing else than sitting vipassana, but i tried a little metta which i cant keep just for few moments, after few minutes metta turns into just repeating words ( i know it is ok but this is boring ). i was thinking about if i could learn some meditation based on imagination, but learning new one fro...

check for sloth and torpor, notice that if there is sloth and torpor. learn when do they happen, do you have enough sleep before meditating? do not try to control or overcome the feeling but just become aware of something more gross like your siting posture.
