Re: Server migration Sept 22
Hi Ayu, others, I have had difficulties several times in the past (as well as this time) when the IP address of the server changed. I suspect that the DNS associated with the old server may have been set up advertising a very long expire time, and it will simply take several days for some of my nea...

Re: Server migration Sept 22
There was a a bad configuration that caused this error. It is fixed now, but the nature of the problem is that browsers cache it. Try clearing your browser cache or trying it in a different browser or private mode. Ctrl+shift+del in Mozilla and keep cache checked and clear 'everything' At the siste...

"General Error" on Dharmawheel.net?
Hi. No suggestion, just a question: When I try to visit Dharmawheel today there is only this text arising: "General Error SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Table './thedhamm_dharmawheel/dharmawheel_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired [145] An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Pl...

"Feeking" or "Feeling"? Yes, i had a feeling of dryness some days ago. I had to accept it and watch it. For such times I appreciate this one: http://www.palicanon.org/en/sutta-pitaka/transcribed-suttas/majjhima-nikaya/130-mn-4-bhayabherava-sutta-fear-and-dread.html Just s...

Re: Members Bios - please contribute yours
This is an interesting thread. I love reading bio's. In 1962 i was born near the seaside of Germany. A silent girl, a bad student, only good in arts, wondering about "What is time?" and "How unique every moment is." and "Why am I born here, in the center of the world, in Ger...

Re: Tanha/Tanha Pahaana !!
This is an interesting question. It should be meditated, i presume. Is there any correlation between food, craving and conceit - in this array? It concerns the body, the mind and the conduct, maybe? Maybe one has to draw back the conceit in front of the others - from outside to inside - and then may...

I didn't vote. In my view there's not so much difference between all of them.

Re: Emptiness and tge Abbhidhamma
Seems to me there is no real accordance between Abhidhamma (Theravada) and the Prasangikha-Madhyamika-school (Mahayana). Ashin Janakabhivamsa said here: http://www.dharmaweb.org/index.php/Abhidhamma_In_Daily_Life_By_Ashin_Janakabhivamsa#The_Four_Ultimates_.28Paramattha.29 Paramattha is a Pali term, ...

Re: Can only a Buddha understand Abhidhamma?
Thank you, you are very kind. Right now i read "Abhidhamma in daily Life" from Ashin Janakabhivamsa. It is written in an easily understandable language, translated into German. Later i would like to start with "Jewels from the treasurehouse" by Vasubandhu and Wangtshuk Dorje - Ma...

Re: Can only a Buddha understand Abhidhamma?
... But everybody can learn and understand abhidhamma as much as their paññā and viriya can get the knowledge. What are the requirements of knowledge a person must have to be able to study the Abhidhamma? My friend tells, it is the "higher teaching" and I would not be able to understand i...

Just looking - Ayu
Hello friends, I call myself Ayu, pali-word for "life", cause I like the sound. You may excuse my strange English sometimes - I'm German native speaker. Practicing Tibetean Buddhism since 2008, I'd like to read more about Theravada. That's why I will keep silent rather than join the discus...
