Hello All,
If anyone speaks Sanskrit, please would you kindly PM me? A friend of mine would be very glad to have something short translated from English.
Many thanks.

Re: drowsiness in meditation
Hi Marc, some great suggestions there, thank you.
Had the bloods done....all came back fine thankfully. I'm a vegetarian so can't do the fish supplement thing, but walking meditation is a fantastic idea and I am going to trial that from tomorrow - brilliant!

Re: drowsiness in meditation
Thanks chaps, much obliged, Ben that link is just what I needed. You're both right, some schedule re-adjustment needs to take place, I'm just not sure how or what will get the chop. There are lots of demands upon my time. Most people I know seem the same - the pace of life in the Western world reall...

Re: Autopsy documentary about the human body & diseases
Hello Tilt, that sounds interesting, mind if I asked how you managed to gain access to an autopsy? I'd like to do that one day too.tiltbillings wrote:Having attended an autopsy, watching a film of it is a bit sterile. The one thing that is missing is the smell.

Re: Autopsy documentary about the human body & diseases
Very interesting thread. I was searching for stuff like mesentery, sinews etc recently, because I was reading the suttas about contemplating the body and I didn't know what these things really looked like. I nearly heaved when I saw some of the pics! I also attended the very good 'Death' exhibition ...

Fastest response ever! Hello Cittasanto.
After all the jobs and whatnot are done, I'd say between 30 and 45 minutes a day, which I try to spend reading Suttas and meditating. But I keep accidentally wasting the opportunity by crashing!

drowsiness in meditation
The main hindrance which crops up for me time and again is dullness and drowsiness in meditation. I'm a full time worker in a very intense job, helping people in crisis and managing emergency situations. Much of my time is spent either at work, traveling to and from work, recovering from work, and g...

Re: Anyone tried the Samatha Trust (UK)?
Hi Puppha,
I am also about to book a weekend with them in Wales. I have recently started attending a weekly class and really rate it. The teacher knows his stuff and all seems coolio at the moment.
Hope it goes well for you.

Re: Non-Buddhist writing that reminds you of the dhamma
'Requiem For A Dream' by Hubert Selby Jnr. I read the whole narrative through a dhammic lens. It's a very powerful example of the varying attachments (narcotics, TV, food, greed for money and an 'easy life') of four people, how these slowly corrode their ability to relate meaningfully, annihilates t...
