Digity: Yes, I am. And also a complete waste of time.

Re: Eyes Open Or Closed During Practice?

I shut my eyes and take off the contact lenses. If I held the eyes open, I would get too involved in the visual world. Problem with closed eyes, though, is you might feel like going to sleep. Way to solve that is to make an effort to sit erect, and do the best you can to get into a proper cross-leg ...

Re: Should I read "Manual for Insight"?

No, you should not.
Too difficult to understand for a beginner, and even if you are not, there is no use reading the commentaries. Much better to spend your time on the original teachings.

Re: Child Lama. I think it is ridiculous.

So. I've learned at least one thing from this: There is such a thing called called Bon.
But, I don't care. Because it seems to be completely ridiculous.
Just like the idea that there could be a child lama.

There could not be a Child Lama, right?
In the Suttas, nothing like that was ever said.

Re: Child Lama. I think it is ridiculous.

Name the Sutta which says we can be reborn in a place or time or our choice.
Name the one which says it is possible to determine the rebirth place of others.

I'll stick with my original statement.
Anyone who can tell me why it is wrong (without misquoting), do so now.

Re: Child Lama. I think it is ridiculous.

Aslo, I did not deny rebirth. But nowhere did the Buddha say he could determine past lives with anything other than basic needs. And nowhere did he say there is a way to find a specific rebirth.
You should look up the term "inferential error" before accusing me.

Upeksha: Both points you try to make are incorrect. You are inferring things that are not reasonable.
The example about the war in Sri Lanka, for instance, has no logic
