Re: Depression

Greggorious, I was diagnosed with bipolar about 6 years ago, and not just the simple bipolar I or II, nope, I am Cyclothymia. This mean that I can mood change in the blink of an eye. I do not look at this as something that is a burden, or that I was cursed with. It is a decease, much like depression...

Re: Cat food

We feed our cat (Bean) dry cat food. It is fish or chicken. He has never gone outside, and as a matter of fact, he's scared of the outside. This is not cruelty, this is for his own safety. Northern Canada has wolves and it does get brutally cold in the winter. We keep him in for his protection. He's...

the great vegetarian debate

I went with Lacto-ovo vegetarianism. I have been this way for two weeks now. My wife has gone Vegan. I just couldn't give up cheese, but meat is easy as it usually doesn't sit well with me anyway. I do eat some of her vegan meals, which are very good.

Re: "You cannot be moral without being religious"

If the argument is that you cannot be moral without being religious, then it also must be true that you cannot be religious without being moral . This part of the argument can be debunked simply by looking at televangelists or extremists; they all have religion, but without morality. If this part o...

Re: "You cannot be moral without being religious"

Dat what I says. If by using the same logic as the original statement (thesis) then the opposing statement (antithesis). I am not saying that the argument is true, just the opposite. The basis of my argument is that if the antithesis is false, which it is, then the thesis must also be false, which ...

Re: Retro's Rockers

Way to go Retro. Your framing my teenage years with Eurasure and Joy Division/ New Order. So now I'm thinking that the following will be coming up: Pet Shop Boys, U2 (going to see them next May), Bob Marley and the Wailers should be there as well. I think I'm close on some of them.... or maybe not. ...

Re: What kind of music relaxes you?

Too many individual songs relax me, but if I have the time, here is the list of albums that I will listen to for relaxation: Pink Floyd - The Wall NIN - The Fragile Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell Miles - Birth of the Cool Coldplay - Any of them (I write my best papers listening to Coldplay) David Bowie ...

I don't believe that I have ever done that before today. I had water, a light lunch, and my camera. I was hiking for about 5 hours and took 130 pictures. During some of the flat parts, I even practiced walking meditation.

Best Meditation Ever

I would highly recommend walking in the forrest for 10 km then sitting down by a water fall and meditate for 30-45 min. If you follow the teachings of Ajahn Chah, I would recommend getting to the forrest as often as possible, and not weather permitting. http://www.mts.net/~bbuckham/60384_42824721690...

Re: Fear of death. Why?

The way I look at it is that I am not afraid of the sunrise or sunset, I know these will happen, so, I am not afraid of death because that will happen too. Plus, I've come close enough not to have any fear of it.
