I found this board via Dharmawheel.org and it seems that my tendency for Buddhism is going to rooted in the Theravada tradition. Anyone else on here near to where I am by any chance?

Thanks

Greetings from San Antonio!

:anjali:
In sitting meditation stay with that ‘which knows’ everything. Don’t try to go to objects. Let the objects come to you. Try not to react to objects. Whatever arises — greed, aversion, pain, itchiness, metta, likes or dislikes etc. — watch with equanimity, without getting involved, without clinging to it. Stay in the middle path.- Shwe Oo Min Sayadaw

Welcome friend! Please do post topics if you have any questions. The whole "Discovering Theravada" forum is super helpful. Also ffeel free to PM me as well and I can at least point you in the direction of someone who knows something.

I hope your stay is fruitful!

these conditions among human beings are inconstant,
impermanent, subject to change.

undesirable ones bring no resistance.

Greetings, fellow Texan!

Try this link:

I tried using Plano as the keyword but nothing came back. But there are 5 Theravada locations in Dallas if you're willing to drive a bit...

Welcome!

I found some in the area, but I've only found two of them that have English language classes and one of those is Mahayana. I'm going to try to go one tonight since it's the only night they offer an English language class (www.watdallas.com ). There is another one about 45 minutes from me that I want to visit next week because they are part of that relic tour that is going around.
