Hello all,

I registered because there some people here I like to read. As I mostly lean towards western Zen and am not terribly familiar with the Pali canon I guess I'll be reading here mostly.
It looks there won't be much sectarian squabbling here at least :lol:

Lovely to see you here.

Whilst there is indeed a Theravada focus here in terms of subject matter, we're doing our best to make members of all Buddhist traditions who are interested in learning a little more about the Pali Canon or Theravada Buddhism in general (either as a complement their current practice, general interest, whatever) feel welcome. If you see any way we can accommodate you better, please let us know.

The heart of the path is SO simple. No need for long explanations. Give up clinging to love and hate, just rest with things as they are. That is all I do in my own practice. Do not try to become anything. Do not make yourself into anything. Do not be a meditator. Do not become enlightened. When you sit, let it be. When you walk, let it be. Grasp at nothing. Resist nothing. Of course, there are dozens of meditation techniques to develop samadhi and many kinds of vipassana. But it all comes back to this - just let it all be. Step over here where it is cool, out of the battle. - Ajahn Chah

:hello: Welcome. Western Zen (I think) is somewhat similar to "Modern Theravada."
