Introduce yourself to others at Dhamma Wheel.
I am new to Buddhism and am very glad to have stumbled onto this forum. I am currently in Okinawa, Japan in the U.S. military and feel like I have nowhere to go and nobody to talk to when it comes to learning more about Buddhism. I look forward to learning and talking with all of you!
Thanks in advance for the welcomes

Bhikkhus, if you develop and make much this one thing,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.
What is it? It is recollecting the Enlightened One.
If this single thing is recollected and made much,
it invariably leads to weariness, cessation, appeasement, realization and extinction.Anguttara-Nikaya: Ekanipata: Ekadhammapali: PañhamavaggaWBB TBHT HBM AC My Page

What is the use of his knowledge
pertaining to the number of insects in the whole world?
Rather, inquire into his knowledge of
that which is to be practised by us
This being is bound to samsara, kamma is his means for going beyond.
