Grim Greetings

Postby Mr. Grimnasty » Sat Dec 29, 2012 9:10 am

Hello,

This is Mr. Grimnasty, grumpy Hinayanist misanthrope, wishing you a good day. Or if not "good", then at least a day that's less intolerable than it might otherwise have been.

Any particular reasons for your grouchy grumpiness, any aversions to deal with ...?

If you don't have that copywrited, I'd love to put that on my business cards... :jumping:

Thank you for your welcome.
I expect the reason is simply samsaric atavism. When you've spent as many aeons as I have as a Brahma deity in the Abhassara world, it's no picnic when your merit gets exhausted and you pass away from that state and plummet back down to the human realm with all its insufferable grossness.

Welccome aboard even if DW is a sorry excuse for the Brahma-realms!
To avoid all evil, to cultivate good, and to cleanse one's mind — this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Welcome!

The heart of the path is SO simple. No need for long explanations. Give up clinging to love and hate, just rest with things as they are. That is all I do in my own practice. Do not try to become anything. Do not make yourself into anything. Do not be a meditator. Do not become enlightened. When you sit, let it be. When you walk, let it be. Grasp at nothing. Resist nothing. Of course, there are dozens of meditation techniques to develop samadhi and many kinds of vipassana. But it all comes back to this - just let it all be. Step over here where it is cool, out of the battle. - Ajahn Chah
