Greetings from India

Postby Sweet_Nothing » Tue Feb 11, 2014 7:58 am

In the great ocean called Samsara,
I am but a passing drop.

I was born in India 22 years ago. A little over 2 years ago I was formally introduced to the Dhamma through one of Goenkaji's 10 day courses. It was completely life altering.
Since then I have sat some more courses.I have been trying to keep up a steady sitting practice and also read/listen to dhamma talks/books in my free time.

I have also done a fair bit of intellectual exploration towards almost all other alternative paths. All in all, the noble eight fold path as taught by Shakyamuni Buddha rings true with me.

I'm glad to find this website and it feels just right for me. I came across several threads which solved some doubts I had. The colour scheme is also very nice! :)

My goal is to be free of delusion as far as possible. Everything else feels secondary.
I shall do this probably as a contemplative layman and maybe, possibly as a monk, if circumstances ever allow.

Metta,

SN/Akash

swagat :namaste:
Aflame with the fire of passion, the fire of aversion, the fire of delusion.
Aflame, with birth, aging & death, with sorrows, lamentations, pains, distresses, & despairs ......

Seeing thus, the disciple of the Noble One grows disenchanted. SN 35.28

Welcome!

“What should be done for his disciples out of compassion by a teacher who seeks their welfare and has compassion for them, that I have done for you, bhikkhus. There are these roots of trees, these empty huts. Meditate, bhikkhus, do not delay or else you will regret it later. This is our instruction to you.” - MN 19
