I came across this forum while looking up info on Na Uyana. I've been meditating for six years in Goenka tradition and recently started thinking about going to either a Myanmar or Sri Lanka monastery to do a year or so of practice. Na Uyana looked good till I read piano piano's post about food in Sri Lanka. I spent about a year working with monks in rural West Bengal so I know what he means. If anyone has first hand knowledge of a good Vipassana monastery in either of those countries, please let me know. I am not looking for anything fancy, most important is the quality of instruction and it would be good if I don't have to drop 30 kilos by the end of my stay.
Thanks so much!
