Hey all! I was a lurker at e-sangha, and have been shopping for an on-line source of Buddhist commentary since the big crash. Saw a link for Dhammawheel, and here I am.
My first teacher was Burmese and my first Sangha was an informal lay Theravada discussion group. When I moved across the country, there were no English speaking Theravadan sanghas in my new city. I accompanied friends to dharma talks at various Zendo. Recently I've shopped around for Sangha, and I think I have landed with a vipassana center associated with the dhamma.org folks. I also attend a non-sectarian discussion group hosted at a Soto Zen community; I'm the only Theravadan practitioner in the group.

I have been practicing with these folks since 1985. If you have a spare 10-days up your sleeve, I recommend attending a ten-day course.

Thank you, Ben. I attended my first 10-day this past summer. Loved it. As a result, I am reevaluating many aspects of my dhamma practice. Maybe the quality conversations here will help me with that!
