What music are you listening to right now?
Re: What music are you listening to right now?
very nice, thank you Mike!
“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”

in mountain clefts and chasms,
loud gush the streamlets,
but great rivers flow silently.

Re: What music are you listening to right now?
This soundtrack from the movie "Himalaya" featuring tibetan voice of Tsering Lodoe has dug itself deep into my head, absolutely a heart song:
All beings like yourself are responsible for their own actions. Suffering or happiness is created through one's relationship to experience, not by experience itself. Although I wish only the best for you, I know that your happiness or unhappiness depends on your actions, not on my wishes for you.
May you not be caught in reactivity.

Blog, Suttas, Aj Chah, Facebook.
He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.

I am amused.

David2... this one is better...
Originally this came out under the band name of Colorpulse, but seems to have been retrospectively renamed Symphony Of Science based on its Youtube success, and so as to turn it into a series of sorts.
Metta,
Retro.

Nada Surf, "The Stars are Indifferent to Astronomy".
Fig TreeNo one wants to live this fiction
Where didn't we go wrong?
With a clear eye but a clouded mind
The stars are indifferent to astronomy
And all that we think we know
Mars will salute your autonomy
But he doesn't need to know

This man's voice can cut steel. Some true Appalachian, mountain music for you.

Re: What music are you listening to right now?
This is probably the most haunting piece of music I've ever heard and I am really addicted to it to the point where I've stated to use it as observing craving. It's from Kung Fu Panda when Master Oogway "dies"(ie turns into lotus leaves) so I'm sure there is an emotional connection there in addition to the music itself and also I enjoy Chinese music in general. Master Oogway is the modern day Buddhist master in popular culture where as I had yoda and Mr. Miagi as a kid lol.

Another great soul singer for Britain to be proud of.

I was lucky enough to hear this gem on the radio this morning on the way to work.
