Greetings Perkele,

Heheh... hair metal.

Here's a cover of a song originally performed by the hairy Bee Gees.

Metta,
Retro. :)

“No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes.”
- Cormac McCarthy, The Road

Not sure if she knows of them, but that is definitely her style.

Greetings,

Jefferson Airplane are cool.

Skipping beyond their mega hits Somebody To Love and White Rabbit, there's still so many good songs. A couple that come to mind...

Indeed!
As you know I have been tormenting my facebook friends with a Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starfish retrospective of late.

Wooden Ships was actually a song by CS&N (Crosby, Stills & Nash) but done by JA when Crosby and Nash joined the band - at some point.
I like the JA version but prefer the CS&N original.

I do love Jerry Garcia on lead guitar but sometimes I just get a hankering for Stephen Stills' unmistakable style.

Oh dear Ben, that's terrible.

It's lost the endearing post-apocalyptic feel of JA's version in favour of generic early-70s US rock.

In order to redeem yourself, clap your hearers around this...

I will, but later. My wife will hit me if I play another youtube video.
CS&N terrible?? My friend - you need an education!
Here they are with Neil Young (CSN&Y) from their concert album 'Four Way Street" playing "The Lee Shore"

Greetings Ben,

I've heard worse but it doesn't float my boat - for mine, Donovan did that kind of sound better.

8-)

But anyway, setting aside the "countering" for a moment. Here's what I have actually been listening to over the last few days... Mansun.
