I just finished reading Anathem
, by Neal Stephenson. It is speculative science fiction, mostly depicting individuals who live in monasteries for scientific & philosophical research who end up responding to a world crisis, written in first-person perspective.
In the book, sometimes scientific proofs and philosophical points are put to music, something akin to a splice of Gregorian and Buddhist chanting. The link below was created with this in mind, and forms something of a supplement to the book. While it isn't great music on the face of things, I appreciate supportive world-building such as this - at ~930 pages, it was a thoroughly thought-provoking read; the plot was sketched out by the author when he wrote an article which briefly covered the history of metaphysics.
So, here you go: music from a book.http://www.nealstephenson.com/anathem/music.htm
