Wat is it?

Hi Everyone,

Just one of my silly questions, several of the statues in the temple I go to are holding a strange shaped object, like a tooth in the right hand.

Does anyone know what it is and what it means please?

Also does anyone know of a web site showing the finger signs and what they mean too please.

Thank you and a happy weekend to everyone.

Hi Graham,

I believe the hand gestures are called mudras. There are more varieties in Mahayana than Theravada.
