This is a question specifically about Thai views of giving someone a Buddha statue.
What is the view - if any - of a "Farang" (non Thai) such as myself giving a Thai person a gift of a Buddha statue, say for a birthday.
I don't think there would be any issue but I thought it best to check as there are often little customs I forget and especially with something as important as this I don't want to offend.
If that Thai person is a buddhist...it will be perfect gift. My mom gave me an antique Buddha statue as my wedding gift...oh I/hubby love it so much, we still have it on our altar, it is our heirloom/special treasure.
