He turns his mind away from those phenomena, and having done so, inclines his mind to the property of deathlessness: 'This is peace, this is exquisite — the resolution of all fabrications; the relinquishment of all acquisitions; the ending of craving; dispassion; cessation; Unbinding.'
(Jhana Sutta - Thanissaro Bhikkhu translation)

You're kidding! Lobachevsky was the father of hyperbolic geometry.

Getting a little off topic I fear, but as a race I think Jews have a disproportionately high number of geniuses. Someone once thought I was Jewish (a racist guy who took my reading exert of Mila 18 to be proof), I felt like thanking him for the compliment.

Back on topic, Cittasanto: I don't personally think it's a big enough deal to make it illegal to circumcise babies, and that circumcision should be consensual. I personally wouldn't have been pissed off if my parents had had me circumcised as a babe, but to each their own. It's not a black and white argument. but most definitely a grey number.
"For a disciple who has conviction in the Teacher's message & lives to penetrate it, what accords with the Dhamma is this:
'The Blessed One is the Teacher, I am a disciple. He is the one who knows, not I." -

Then the Blessed One, picking up a tiny bit of dust with the tip of his fingernail, said to the monk, "There isn't even this much form...feeling...
perception...fabrications...consciousness that is constant, lasting, eternal, not subject to change, that will stay just as it is as long as eternity."

About the hygiene thing: why is it so hard to wash your kid's pecker? Seriously, I always washed my son's in the past, and now that he's older, I've taught him to wash it when taking a shower. Not hard.

I mean, a kid's ass is a foul little thing, but we don't cut off the cheek.

He who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them.
But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side, if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion …
...
He must be able to hear them from persons who actually believe them … he must know them in their most plausible and persuasive form.
