Mr. Pitman lives in Bangkok, he has never been to Myanmar, and I have no idea how he 'pieced together' this article. However, I do know that he has a widespread reputation for making up lurid sensationalist nonsense.

Bodhgaya serial blast

Postby Gunjan » Tue Jul 09, 2013 12:06 pm

Nine serial explosions rocked the internationally renowned temple town of Bodh Gaya, including four in the Mahabodhi Temple complex, injuring two monks in the blasts suspected to be engineered by some terrorist organisation.

The Mahabodhi Temple is frequented by Buddhist pilgrims from Sri Lanka, China and Japan and the whole of southeast Asia.

And what is right speech? Abstaining from lying, from divisive speech, from abusive speech, & from idle chatter: This is called right speech.

I must belong to the 5% then because I have yet to see any evidence of '...violent treatment of Muslims at the hands of people claiming to be Buddhists.' Arakanese and Bangladeshis fighting over land certainly, and that is very regretable. However, the idea that the problems in Burma are about a conflict between religions is one that has been grafted onto the facts by the Western media. Of course now it is becoming true, such is the power of propaganda.

Then the Blessed One, picking up a tiny bit of dust with the tip of his fingernail, said to the monk, "There isn't even this much form...feeling...
perception...fabrications...consciousness that is constant, lasting, eternal, not subject to change, that will stay just as it is as long as eternity."

And how much of the world's wealth is controlled by corporations, not to mention governments?????
18 years ago I made one of the most important decisions of my life and entered a local Cambodian Buddhist Temple as a temple boy and, for only 3 weeks, an actual Therevada Buddhist monk. I am not a scholar, great meditator, or authority on Buddhism, but Buddhism is something I love from the Bottom of my heart. It has taught me sobriety, morality, peace, and very importantly that my suffering is optional, and doesn't have to run my life. I hope to give back what little I can to the Buddhist community, sincerely former monk John
