"Mindfulness In Plain English" additional content

Postby Jhana4 » Thu Aug 08, 2013 4:48 pm

Hi,

I decided to reread "Mindfulness In Plain English". I still have my 1991 edition. There have been two editions since then. I am told they are identical except for a new chapter on loving friendliness at the end. Does anyone know if this additional content is online anywhere? I would feel wasteful buying a whole just for one new chapter.

Thanks either way
In reading the scriptures, there are two kinds of mistakes:
One mistake is to cling to the literal text and miss the inner principles.
The second mistake is to recognize the principles but not apply them to your own mind, so that you waste time and just make them into causes of entanglement.

If you like the book, why not buy a new copy and pass the old one on to someone?

I don't know of anyone who would want it. If I did my choice would be between giving them the earlier incomplete edition or keeping the incomplete addition myself ( putting myself back where I started )

It's not the full chapter (afterword), but most is here:

Otherwise, if you are lucky they may have it in your local libary. Or you can visit a monastery or temple and perhaps they have it in their library.
