Rain soddens what is covered up,
It does not sodden what is open.
Therefore uncover what is covered
That the rain will not sodden it.

So.. the study asked people to identify themselves as trolls.. and then actually expected those self-proclaimed trolls to answer a personality profile honestly?

Interesting links. Whats really fun is when you have mods that are trolls. There is a board that im sure will be familiar to most here where i have caught a highly visible mod with a huge post count argueing both sides of an issue in different threads just to keep the drama going :)
"Even if you've read the whole Canon and can remember lots of teachings; even if you can explain them in poignant ways, with lots of people to respect you; even if you build a lot of monastery buildings, or can explain inconstancy, stress, and not-self in the most detailed fashion ... The only thing that serves your own true purpose is release from suffering.

An interesting article - thanks Tilt!

Nah. If those in positions of power call a person a troll, then that person is a troll, end of story.

This is a definition of an internet forum troll . Someone who is recognisable to people other than those in "positions of power" (whatever that means)

An internet encyclopedia is hard to argue against but I would contend that intention is key and that anyone who accidentally provokes anger (etc) by posting material which s/he does not know is inflammatory is not a troll.
Such a person, is simply someone who has made a mistake. When told what they have done, they will normally apologise and not re-offend.

Yes I agree - but it depends on the disposition of the person who made a mistake. Occasionally when told about it, even though they know they've made a mistake, someone can still explode with anger at being corrected!

I agree. It's about the intention to troll and I don't think there's such a thing as an "accidental troll". My cousin plays lots of online video games and he is a troll. He intentionally riles people up by calling them names, gloating over victories, etc. He derives pleasure from getting people angry at him over a video game.
Peace,
James
