Could this be a deva? Serious question.

Postby Stephen K » Sat May 17, 2014 5:14 pm

Don't know if you've seen this video, but I'm interested to hear your opinions. What do you think this is? Do you think it could be a "visible" deva or hungry ghost, or do you think it's been video-edited by someone?

It looks like a bit of tomfoolery trickery to me.

I wouldn't worry about it until you wake up in the middle of the night, to find it wielding a football scarf, at the bottom of your bed....

Hi friend  , not worried either, just curious what people think about the video - is it fake or not; if not could this really be a deva caught on camera? I personally really doubt it but who knows. :)

1. Low resolution (360p). Impossible to discern what the running figure is.
2. Nobody reacts to the "deva" but it is visible to the camera?
3. Why would a deva be sprinting across a stadium on two legs...
4. Devas are supposed to luminously beautiful. This one looks way too shady.
5. It is very easy to edit something like this into a video.

Thanks friend. Those who understand Spanish could help us, but I know one word "fantasma" means ghost, and in the second video one can hear the commentators mention this word (at 0:33). Still, it is highly suspicious. Yes, devas are luminous so it "might" be a hungry ghost then. Or it is probably fake, but wanted to hear others' opinions.

I've only ever heard of devas showing themselves to people who are seriously dedicated to the path of Dhamma. If a deva has nothing better to do than to run around in a stadium, I don't want to meet that deva! He should do something worthwhile with his heavenly time!

Yes, more like a peta-loka being, not a deva.

Moral of the story: Don't root for your team till your death; you might come back as a hungry ghost at the stadium for an aeon of watching them lose.

Seriously though, why can't it just be a man running? Other figures in the stands also look rather dark from the distance. Maybe he forgot his wallet on his seat when he went to get some snack.

In the first video they're just talking about the game.
In the second video they're talking about the appearance of a ghost running through the seats.
One says that he thinks its a ghost. They assume it's a ghost because of the velocity of the appearance running through the seats and into the group of people on the right side.
Nothing special, if you ask me. Most of the time I get the impression that spanish television is only about gossip and tattle.
