Funny juvenile YouTube comments

Postby waterchan » Wed May 28, 2014 2:45 pm

Anyone who's been on YouTube for any length of time knows that YouTube comments are perhaps the lowest common denominator of Internet discussions.

But I found the following comments hilarious, possibly because it's so outrageous. (Just to make it clear, I like the Dalai Lama and find him very fluffy and lovable. I have also purchased more than a couple of his books.)

They are pretty bad, but you've clearly never seen a discussion on 4chan... :coffee:
"This world completely lacks essence;
It trembles in all directions.
I longed to find myself a place
Unscathed — but I could not see it."

“Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Crime and Punishment

I stand corrected. 4chan is clearly the lowest common denominator of all lowest common denominators :(

It might be worth thinking about your definition/s of "lowest common denominator" before going much further. Is it ignorant, stupid (there is a difference - ignorance is remediable), violent, hateful, racist, sexist, exploitative ... any combination of the above ... etc.
:toilet:
On the other hand, it might be worth not going much further.

It's quite the scene.
