What sutta is this talk based on?

Post by soapy3 »

I thought this was an excellent talk. At the start Ajahn Brahm says it is based on the first teaching of the Buddha. Does anyone know exactly which sutta? I would be interested to see the teachings in the orignal parlance ( as much as 2500 years and translations will allow ).

Thanks

The Buddha's first discourse was the Dhammacakka Sutta, which was on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Noble Path, otherwise known as the Middle Way between the extremes of sensual indulgence and self-mortification.
