The most Venerable Madawela Punnaji has arrived here in the U.S. for a few months! He will be traveling to many states of the U.S this year and then also to Canada, before he goes back to Malaysia, where they are understandably disappointed to not have him there for most of this year.

I don't know, but I wouldn't doubt it. Everyone I know who has studied under him, usually comes out saying that he is the best teacher they have ever met. He gave the eulogy in Malaysia for K. Sri Dhammananda and was requested to stay and they almost hold him down when he travels to other places to teach. There are even many monks who look to him for guidance.

This morning my wife and I had the honor of meeting Ayya Phalañani. She is visiting the U.S. from Thailand and a member of Dhamma Wheel here too. So here is a photo of the meeting of 3 Dhamma Wheel members:

I caught up with Ben on the weekend. I was using his computer to check Dhamma Wheel and such, and accidentally stumbled upon an online banking transaction in which an anonymous person from California had transferred a significant sum of money into his account. I was curious about it, but I didn't ask Ben what the story was.

Later, after this knife incident...

... I realised it was an assassination attempt! Thankfully I managed to thwart it though, through the innovative use of a set of tongs. Unable to take me out of commission, Ben was obliged to return his commission to the anonymous sender of said funds. The appropriate authorities have been informed.

I thought I read that you (Ben) lost a lot of weight (I think I read from one of your posts) while you were on the long retreat.

Yes, I did loose some weight which I am now finding again.

Paul was a great help in the kitchen. Saved my 'bacon' by helping me to prepare for a week-long camp with 84 people (mostly 12/13 year olds). Got in some sights around Launceston as well, even the monkey enclosure.
