I want to share my experience with you all and I hope you can learn from my lessons.
Please meditate, don't be negligent, lest you may later regret it!
Last year, I was planning to ordain permanently because after regular meditation, things became 'clear' to me.
However, I had to sort out a few things before I can ordain -- parental permission etc. So I planned to go to Thailand or Burma in 2010.
Well, since October last year, I have had some joint and heel pains. It gradually worsened and for six weeks now, I have not been able to walk at all. And there are days when sitting or lying down are very uncomfortable. I also cannot take most NSAIDs because of GI side effects and asthma. I went to see a specialist who is suspecting I am having Reactive Arthritis.
Being in pain makes it more difficult to meditate or practise. (although it is more interesting.)
So I am urging all of you to practise and meditate. Use your health and youth for meditation and practise when you can. (I enjoyed walking meditation very much but I can't even stand for a few seconds) Being generous when you can. For others who are in physical discomfort, I hope you be free from physical sufferings!
With lots of metta,
Meditate, don't be negligent, lest you may later regret it!
