State of Origin Clash - Canetoads vs Cockroaches

Postby cooran » Wed May 26, 2010 3:03 am

Oh! Horror!

I woke up in a dozy state this morning. I put on my blue uniform shirt and black slacks. I went to work. All the nurses at work “looked” at me!

How could I have forgotten!?

It is the first State Of Origin Football clash tonight. Queensland (canetoads) versus New South Wales (cockroaches).

My State has Maroon as its colours.

The Cockroaches have Blue as their colour.

Oh! Horror!

So …. I went down to the shopping centre in the lunch hour and bought an official Queensland maroon scarf and jacket.

I’m wearing the scarf at work.

Now they are all saying “Can’t you make up your mind who you support?” “Are you having a bet each way?” and “Do you have a split personality?”

I want it officially on record that I am a Maroons supporter until the day I die.

Oh! Horror!

Dear Chris

I think it is much of of a worry that in Queensland you are wearing a jacket and a scarf!
It ain't cold unless its snowing, girl!

Haha... I'll be heading to up north to Dhammagiri for a week's stay in June/July. Was wondering how cold it'd get... but I suppose if my clothes are warm enough for Melbourne they'd be warm enough for Queensland. :)

I worked for a short while as a pizza delivery guy when I was living in Brissy. State of Origin nights were mad....

In less than a week I'm heading down to Dhamma Pabha on Mt Dromedary, just north of Hobart for a 10-day course.
I'm expecting snow!!
BTW, who won the football game?

Hello Ben, Ed, and all,

Ben ~ it's getting COLD up here! Max 21C Min 16C Soon, it'll be going down to 10C in the mornings! brrrrrr!

Looking forward to seeing you at Dhammagiri Ed. Let me know the exact dates. Even Bhante Dhammasiha, who was born and grew up in Germany, says winters at Dhammagiri are cold. It is much colder than Brisbane. If you are checking on BOM ~ it has much lower temperatures than Ipswich:

Regarding the State of Origin Football matches ....
With all due modesty ~ the canetoads CREAMED the cockroaches! :jumping: heheheheh - um .... er .... I mean, bad luck chaps!

I'm going to second game of the three - in Brisbane in three weeks. Can't wait!

Chris, what can I say...
Unless its snowing - its ain't cold!

the canetoads CREAMED the cockroaches!

Creamed cockroach? Sounds delicious. Perhaps they should put cockroaches in masterchef's 'mystery box' challenge and see who comes up with cream of cockroach soup or poached cockroaches with a beurre blanc sauce.
I'm glad your team won but I have to admit I stopped thinking about league when I was 12 years old and I don't think I've seen a match since.
kind regards

Ben
