Mohamed & Maitreya

I want to apologize to Cooran for getting off topic on the Muhamed (PBUH) in Buddhist script thread
and to contribute in that post (which is now locked) i want to say, that i think it is not important who the Maitreya is
some think Mohamed, others think Jesus, or any other enlightened being (s)

the point i want to make is, if we are going to wait for a savior then we are not taking responsibility of our actions,
especially that there are so many different views on who is Maitreya and those different views will only divide us more

i think perhaps an effort to calm the mind and purify the heart from each and everyone on our way to more awareness
means we will automatically bump into people on that same journey, perhaps the Maitreya will be one of them

as for the other comments earlies by Lauren
Why go to great lengths to defend the book?
i was not going through any extended effort to defend Muhamed or Koran
i was however putting an effort to apply part of the 8 fold path, to be specific the right speech
and to be more specific, to differentiate between "false accusations" and "constructive criticism"
it has been proven by your own words lauren that you
I don't care much to debate Islamic scripture - it's not something that I am well versed in and I understand how it can be mistranslated
so the spontaneous question for you is: why go to great length to attack the book when you as you say are "not well versed in it" and when you "don't care much"?

as for the verses you mentioned again, i can proof to you again that you are totally wrong in your interpretation and weather you do this intentional or not is non of my business - i will not go through more details to proof you wrong in those partial verses that you quoted out of respect to the founders of this forum, this is a buddhist forum and we r not here to discuss koran, but if you truly are interested in understanding i can always pm you -

as for Modus,Ponens:
The Quran and the hadiths were brought by the same people so how can you say that one is completely reliable and the other is complete fabrication?
i can easily answer your questions but this is a buddhist forum so my reply is the same as to laurens - if you want answers about koran, i can pm you but dont listen to me, best do your own investigation as this was the whole idea i was trying to highlight....

i m not responsible for anyone's intentions, but now i wonder if
i m allowed to speak when there seem to be confusion about "constructive critisicm" and "false accusations"

I don't know what this topic is about.

Edit: it reads like a rant, covering several unique topics (including those already discussed on a closed topic) whilst providing no real information and asking no real questions. What is the purpose here?

This thread is in effect trying to unlock a locked topic, and it will end up being a criticism and defense of Islam thread, which really is better played out elsewhere, thusly this thread finds itself locked.
