A Missouri man is charged with unlawful use of a firearm, after peppering his T-V with bullets.

Police responded to a home in Joplin Wednesday after reports of shots being fired inside.

The 70 year old homeowner was angry that he had lost his cable, and was unable to get his new DTV converter to work properly.

After a brief standoff, the man was taken into custody. His wife told officers the suspect had been drinking.

Hows that for the efficacy of the Fifth precept....
"Beautifully taught is the Lord's Dhamma, immediately apparent, timeless, of the nature of a personal invitation, progressive, to be attained by the wise, each for himself." Anguttara Nikaya V.332

who said all this technology is making life easier?
“Mendicants, these two [types of persons] defame the Tathāgata.
(The mendicants asked) What are the two [types of persons]?
(The Lord Buddha responded) The malicious, or the inwardly angry, and the one with (blind) faith or the one who holds things incorrectly.
Mendicants, these two [types of persons] defame the Tathāgata.”

Makes you wonder why, since he had the means at hand, he didn't shoot the thing BEFORE it went on the fritz.
