How often do you put a shirt for the laundry?

Since we were having so much fun with the how often do you bathe thread, I thought I'd ask this one.

Here in the U.S., I think most people will send a shirt to laundry or dry cleaning after wearing it just one day. But if you don't get sweaty or dirty, does it really need to be washed or sent to the cleaners after wearing it one time?

For the purposes of this poll, it is not about a shirt you wear to the gym, but rather something you wear to school or work or around the house.

Hi David,

Outside the US "sending the shirt to the laundry" would generally imply taking it to a cleaning company, rather than just washing it... Hmm...

Hi Mike,

Okay to clarify for the non-Yanks, "sending to laundry" is for putting it in your laundry pile or machine at your home.

I wear pants and shirts for as long as they'll let me. ;)

Seriously, I get as much out of them as possible. Washing a garment after a single day seems an huge waste of resources. My wife disagrees and makes the kids wash everything after a single wear.

I suspect I am a minority up where I live.

It depends on what I am doing (how much I am sweating), and which people I meet.
But most times, I try to wear shirts more than once.

Greetings,

For a shirt, it would be once.

For a t-shirt, sometimes I might wear one after getting home from work and then go on to wear it again the next day (so what's that, 1.5 days  ) ... especially in the cooler months.

Metta,
Retro. :)

What option do you choose if you wear it precisely 10 times before washing it?

There is also no option for people who don't wear clothes at all. :geek:

I live in Thailand and am a farmer....if I wore a shirt only until it was sweaty I would go through about 10 or 20 shirts a day.....maybe more. If its hot and humid outside and you start working then once you start that "dripping down your body" sweating and your shirt is drenched then if you change to a dry one it actually takes only a few minutes and your shirt will be drenched again.....and don't even talk about socks!!!....I wear rubber boots and often I am literally (literally as in "actually"...as in this is an accurate depiction of reality "literally") sloshing in my boots....from sweat only.....the nice thing is that when you sweat so much that your close are dripping then it tends to wash your shirts in your own sweat so if I wear a shirt for half a day (usuallly 2 or 3 hours work in hot weather) and then hang it up to dry and then wear it the next day after it dries overnite then I can go three or four days...maybe even five before the shirt starts to stink too much.....so I use two shirts every day and alternate them....if the weather is really humid, though, a shirt might not dry overnite so I increase the rotation to include three or four shirts depending on how long it takes them to dry.....this is my working shirt regimen....my relaxing shirt regimen is different....perhaps another time....

There's no option for "until it smells weird."

I frequently change shirts twice in a day.

Yes I know ..the cause of global warming is me. Me and my fussy ways.

Do you really count it that exactly? :D

If so, then I guess click the last one, "more than ten" which I guess should say "10 or more"

I thought this was a Buddhist board, not a Jain one. We Buddhists like our clothes, at least I do.
