A discussion on all aspects of Theravāda Buddhism
Where I live temples are in very short supply, so I am looking to go on my first ever retreat. Yep, after about 10 years of practice I never been on a retreat. Now I am looking to go. I was wondering where would be a good place, in the U.S. to go.
Thanks in advance,
edit to add: I should have also included in this, for only a few days not a long retreat, I prefer the forrest tradition...

What is the use of his knowledge
pertaining to the number of insects in the whole world?
Rather, inquire into his knowledge of
that which is to be practised by us
This being is bound to samsara, kamma is his means for going beyond.

Níl sa saol seo ach ceo
There is naught in this life but mist
Is ní bheimid beo ach seal beag gearr.
And we will not be alive but a short hard time.
