Modern rendering of "papañca"/"sati" Vs. modern vipassana

Greetings!

I'm wondering if the modern interpretation of "papañca" (as "mental proliferation", "prolific conceptualisation"), "sati" (as "objective observation"), and "see things as they are" (as no conceptualization, no mental proliferation) has led to the modern understanding and practice of vipassana.

For the Buddha's teaching on "sati", please see MN 10.

For my understanding of "papañca", please see the following thread:
"The translation of papañca and papañcasaññāsaṅkhā"

For my understanding of "see things as they are" (see things without the seven underlying tendencies/drives -- "Anusayā"), please see:
"The translation of the Buddha's doctrine in MN 18"

Your input has been and will be appreciated. Metta to all!

Ancient rendering of "Papañca":
Papañcakhaya sutta vaṇṇanā
Papañcasaññāsaṅkhāpahānanti papañcenti yattha sayaṃ uppannā, taṃ santānaṃ vitthārenti ciraṃ ṭhapentīti papañcā, kilesā. Visesato rāgadosamohataṇhādiṭṭhimānā. Tathā hi vuttaṃ –
“Rāgo papañco, doso papañco, moho papañco, taṇhā papañco, diṭṭhi papañco, māno papañco”ti. –
Apica saṃkilesaṭṭho papañcaṭṭho, kacavaraṭṭho papañcaṭṭho.
Tattha rāgapapañcassa subhasaññā nimittaṃ, dosapapañcassa āghātavatthu, mohapapañcassa āsavā, taṇhāpapañcassa ¶ vedanā, diṭṭhipapañcassa saññā, mānapapañcassa vitakko nimittaṃ. Tehi papañcehi sahagatā saññā papañcasaññā. Papañcasaññānaṃ saṅkhā bhāgā koṭṭhāsā papañcasaññāsaṅkhā. Atthato saddhiṃ nimittehi taṃtaṃpapañcassa pakkhiyo kilesagaṇo. Saññāgahaṇañcettha tassa nesaṃ sādhāraṇahetubhāvena. Vuttañhetaṃ – “Saññānidānā hi papañcasaṅkhā”ti (su· ni· 880). Tesaṃ pahānaṃ, tena tena maggena rāgādikilesānaṃ samucchedananti attho.
It seems,
Papañca= Extending the mind/ keeping the mind a long time
= Especially rāga dosa moha taṇhā diṭṭhi mānā
= impurities
= garbage
Cūḷasīhanādasutta vaṇṇanā
papañcoti ca mattapamattākārabhāvena pavattānaṃ taṇhādiṭṭhimānānametaṃ adhivacanaṃ.
Papañca= taṇhādiṭṭhimānā when existing as doped or intoxicated
Bhaddakasutta vaṇṇanā
papañcoti taṇhādiṭṭhimānavasena pavatto madanākārasaṇṭhito kilesapapañco.

Papañca=kilesas when existing as taṇhādiṭṭhimāna and established as intoxicated
Brahmajālasutta tikā
papañcoti vitthāro.
Papañca= expanding, extending
Verañjakaṇḍa tikā
Taṇhāpapañco diṭṭhipapañco mānapapañcoti ime tividhapapañcā. Vaṭṭasmiṃ satte papañcentīti taṇhādayo “papañcā”ti vuccanti.
Papañca=lengthening beings in Samsara
Cūḷavaggayojanā
saṃsāre ciraṃ ṭhapentīti papañcā.
Papañca= keeping (beings) a long time in Samsara
