Actually Factual...

Postby Bhikkhu_Samahita » Mon Apr 28, 2014 10:43 pm

Friends:

This World is Messed Up!

Image

The Buddha once told a deity:
This world is suffering from Death,
Troubled by ageing, decay and sickness,
Wounded by the Dart of constant Craving!
Always is it burning with Desire and Lust...
This world is addicted to Delight and Pleasure,
Since dragged around by this urge and longing,
Craving must be cut, to break free from bondage
and reach the only absolute freedom: Nibbana...

Comments:
How can there be any freedom if there still is craving, longing and
clinging to something... Craving is Mental Slavery!
Craving is a Prison of urge...

Doesn't this belong in Daily Dhamma Drops?

Ah, I see. I quite like these kinds of frequent educational posts to be in the Daily Dhamma Drops topic, but possibly that's just me.

Thank you Venerable.

Hi all
I made that request from Ven. Smahita as I had some problems of reading it in normal Daily Dhamma Drop link.
I think his way of teaching is unique and I just love the way he illustrate the Dhamma.
The picture is worth more than thousands words.
I do not think we can have too much Dhamma.
Sometimes you can attain Arahantship due to agitation. (Can’t remember the exact words)

Hi SarathW. You have the option of registering so that the "Daily Dhamma Drops" posts are sent to your email inbox each day. I hope this helps.

I would think it might be good to post like this so that there could be mini debates on each post
and there is no need for ven.Bhikkhu_Samahita to participate those debates and answer questions cause the forum members are good enough for that
Please send merit to my dog named Mika who has passed away - thanks in advance

Oh noooo, no no, please no. Not a new thread for every new daily post from the Venerable. Keep it in the Daily Dhamma Drops, perhaps apart from the occasional request like SarahW made.
He posts individual new threads on NewBuddhist, and it clutters things up. In my opinion.

And no "mini debates."

ok i defiantly see the advantage in it all being in one thread - with one title that is easy to know when its updated - and is easy to look at all the previous posts - still think a debate (questions links ect) could be nice - but i guess you cant eat the cake and keep it full - you cant dance in two weddings - so yeah in second thought its best to keep it the way it is

A monk dancing at a wedding i am not sure is right ... but on the other hand : with the colorful robe you will no doubt be the life of the party

I belive its great just as it is - giving it a third thought if i dont understand something i can easily just open a new thread myself and ask that question- though didnt have a question about the drops for a long time now - so no real need to separate them - i guess i was just typing for the sake of typing
