A discussion on all aspects of Theravāda Buddhism
by rowyourboat » Sun Jan 10, 2010 6:16 pm
Hello Kalyanamittas!
I am looking for a good talk (on the internet) on the Four Noble Truths. A video would be even better! It is to play at a meeting of friends that takes place every month. This month we decided to listen to a talk and discuss. I have googled with not much luck. It is surprising that this isn't commonly available considering that this is such a fundamental topic to Buddhist thought. In any case if any of you know of a good talk please point me in that direction. Thanks in Advance.

I second this recommendation. I have been considering doing a transcript of all these talks to give to friends and family as they are an excellent introduction to Buddhism as a whole.

Slightly off topic here but, at the request of someone, I've begun transcribing these lectures...my question is: Does anyone here know of them in text already?...and if so, where they can be found...
Thank you...

Bhante i have looked and could not find a transcription anywhere on the web. You could try maybe emailing the monastery and asking?

Thank you bodom...actually it's for someone connected with Bhikkhu Bodhi, and I think he would have told her had he known they were already transcribed...
Be well...

Even though not titled as the four noble truths, I found this talk on the happiness industry by Ajhan Brahmavanso a good and deceptively deep talk on suffering/happiness.

I thought I would find a 4NT talk here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/BuddhistSocietyWAHowever, my memory was faulty. There's not a talk with that in the title, at least. You can find the talk Rowyourboat referenced there.
So even if this doesn't specifically answer your question, I hope you will find it useful. It's worth creating an account and subscribing just so you're notified of updates.
