Audio of Uposatha Precepts

Postby Buckwheat » Wed Jan 11, 2012 4:34 pm

Hello Everybody,

I am finding chanting along with audio files of great help, especially for getting the right rhythm and when to change pitch. Does anybody know where I can find an audio file of The Three Refuges and the Eight Precepts? I found something similar with the Five precepts, but I want something for Uposatha days.

Thanks,
Scott

Plenty of chanting audio here: http://mirror1.birken.ca/dhamma_talks/i ... _List.html

It's a huge list so just Ctrl+F and search-term "precepts" or Ctrl+F and search-term "three refuges" and there you are.

I enjoy the chanting of Ajahn Sister Vayama, her 8 precepts are here: http://www.dhammaloka.org.au/downloads/ ... nting.html
Scroll down to "Taking the Three Refuges and Eight Precepts"

Hopefully you found something in your mother tongue and not in Pāḷi only.

For me it's far more powerfull to recite in my mother tongue or at last in the second language I know a bit, that is english.

Especially all that exotism falls of and the rites-&-rituals-believe gets less nutrition.

The links were great. I was lookimg for pali. I think about what the pali words mean so its not empty ritual. It almost feels a little more powerful in Pali.
