Hi Paul

Not really in a position to go through motions to get to the ore of his teachings, could someone please give a summary of his interpretation of Paticcasamupada?

From what I can gather from the website it's another temporal interpretation, moment by moment - Is it akin to Buddhadasa?

Ven. Punnaji is a great teacher. I have been listening to his Dhamma talk in the past week. He sheds new lights into the Dhamma. I find his translations of key terms very insightful. He is not like Buddhadasa. His background is in philosophy, psychology and he was a practicing physician at one point. He loves to use modern studies of psychology and philosophy and relate it to the Dhamma.

He will cite different western philosophers on their perspective on human experience and then explain how it relates to Buddha's perspective. He explains that Buddhism is part philosophy, part psychotherapy, and part religion. He uses his experience in the medical field and his education in psychology to help modern listener to understand the Buddhist concepts.

Notice that it mentions, "the Dream of Existence" so it is not referring to any eternalism, if that is the way it may have appeared.

Also, that site was prepared by the webmaster from Malaysia, not Bhante Punnaji himself. Any errors in language would from the lay followers / webmaster, not Bhante Punnaji.

I registered for that site a few months ago when it launched. The ebooks on the site are extremely difficult to come by otherwise, so it was good they were made available. The audio/video lectures, though there are few, are very good.

I've been listening to him and reading his work for about a year and my practice has shown much improvement. His approach works very well for me. I highly recommend looking into his work further.

Here is one talk in two parts on the paticca samuppada, Jack. Unfortunately, part of the lecture is cut out, but you'll still get plenty of good info regarding his interpretation.

Can someone with a wikipedia account pls correct an inaccuracy in his bio? Presently It currently says "Ven. Punnaji took the place of the famous and late Ven. Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda in Malaysia as spiritual head of the Brickfields Malaysian Buddhist Maha Vihara [1]", which is incorrect. The current head of the Vihara is Ven K Sri Dhammaratana ( see http://www.dhammawiki.com/index.php?tit ... rickfields).

I sent the webmaster an email about this as I have been wondering myself how the E-course works. I will let you know when he gets back to me.
