Practice without expectations that is one of the best ways to overcome one's despondency.
Also I feel you think everyday is the same day routine and nothing ever changes, how can that be true? Everything is changing in a flux, our physical and mental constituents changing moment by moment but of course our physical appearance does not change that much.
Change is happening as you read this, when there is change there is HOPE from our current situation.
