Geez, rhodnar, you don't have a clue as to what Theravada Buddhism is about. That is okay. Good luck with your enlightenment.rhodnar wrote:I am sorry if this post appears rude, that was not my intent. It is not meant a spam, just as a notification. If you choose to visit the site or not makes

I think you're confusing enlightenment with delusion. All of our members who have decided to use Dhamma Wheel as the soapbox to announce their enlightenment have the same problem.rhodnar wrote:I achieved enlightenment, real enlightenment,

I agree. Someone who really is enlightened has no need or urge to announce this.Ben wrote:I think you're confusing enlightenment with delusion. Re: An Enlightened Being...
How did you follow this up? In some traditions i think experiences like this may be the end of the road, in others they are just the start of real practice. What have you done in the intervening two years? What difference did this experience make in what you do in the world everyday? Did you follow this up with anyone? A spiritual teacher in some tradition?rhodnar wrote:I am sorry if this post appears rude, that was not my intent. It is not meant a spam, just as a notification. Good questions all, but I supect that this is a drive-by posting to advertise the blog and the poster not to be seen again. Hope I am wrong, because it could be interesting. We shall see.m0rl0ck wrote:How did you follow this up? In some traditions i think experiences like this may be the end of the road, in others they are just the start of real practice. Re: An Enlightened Being...
People who claim full or near full enlightenment tend to have several common characteristics;
1. The need to proclaim it to the world.
2. The need to mention that they don't care if you don't believe them. :cookoo:
3. The need to bash other teachers, usually those who rejected them or told them they were delusional.
4. The need to defend their so called "enlightenment"
5. Sooner or later they end up doing:
Then they are exposed and then they drift away, never or very rarely seen again.
There is a good saying to use in response to people who make these claims:
"How's that enlightenment working out for you?"

Re: An Enlightened Being...
Yes. Sometimes these come from powerful experiences that unfortunately people tend to misinterpret as enlightenment and imagine all sorts of things.
How to pierce this egoic delusion? I guess sooner or later life does it anyway.

Just that! *smile*
