Bad spirits

Postby unspoken » Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:43 am

In the Atanatiya Sutta, it's been said that when there's a bad spirit that is harassing buddhist, we should chant it. But in the old commentaries, it said that before we do any chant of the Atanatiya Sutta, we should do those procedures like asking the human-like being (bad spirit) to release that person or something. So I was wondering about bad spirits, if they are not Asura, or hungry ghost or hell being. Then what are those human-like being or bad spirit????
