Hi,
someone told me something unclear about a quote from like an "antology of the buddha's words" by Moggaliputta Tissa.
He found that within a preface of an edition of th Buddhavamsa
It goes like this:
"Venerable Sir, do you make mistakes?"
"Everyday I make mistakes," the Buddha replied."
So, anyone who can say something about this?
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
I haven't come across that in the Sutta. Does the author provide the source of that quote or give the name of the sutta ? What I do find inthe sutta though is this passage from the Anguttara Nikaya 4:23 :
"Moreover, bhikkhus, whatever the Tathagata speaks, utters, and proclaims from the day of his perfect enlightenment up to the day when he utterly passes away into the Nibbana-element without residue left —all that is just so and not otherwise. Therefore he is called the Tathagata.
"Bhikkhus, as the Tathagata speaks, so he acts; as he acts, so he speaks. Therefore he is called the Tathagata." - AN 4:23 The Tathagata

Mirco - There is no point in discussing this in a thread unless you can give a clear quote and a link to an accredited source. Please do so.mirco wrote:Hi,
