Post by anchoni »

Hello!

Could please someone write Buddha's last words - in romanized style and in Sanskrit?

Thank you!

Metta!

Google found this:

Atha kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi - handa dāni, bhikkave, āmantayāmi vo: "vayadhammā saṅkhārā appamādena sampādethā"ti. Ayaṃ tathāgatassa pacchimā vācā.[ 2 ]

Now the Blessed One advised the bhikkhus - Well now, bhikkhus, my counsel is: experience is disappointing, [it is] through vigilance [that] you succeed. These were the last words for the Tathāgata.

Devanagari (Usual script of Sanskrit language):
‘‘हन्द दानि, भिक्खवे, आमन्तयामि वो, वयधम्मा सङ्खारा अप्पमादेन सम्पादेथा’’

Roman:
"handa dāni, bhikkave, āmantayāmi vo, vayadhammā saṅkhārā appamādena sampādethā"

It cannot be that bad — your experience was clearly disappointing. :stirthepot:

Gooooogle knows everything , but isn't very smart

Buddhanet's version is okay:

Visiblemantra has a reasonable version, with transliterations:
