It means stream entry but wht does stream entry mean? How did the word come? Is it like
sotha + panna?

If so can you please tell me what sotha means and panna means?

Sota = stream

Sotāpanna = one who has attained the stream leading to final liberation. That is, there is no possibility that a Stream-winner will regress and fall back to the state of a worldling or fall into lower realms of existence. Within seven lives at the most, the Stream-winner will attain the final liberation of Arahantship.

Sota - apatti : the state of stream-entry

'Sota, sota what is the Sota' Ven Sariputta asks: 'the Noble eightfold path' is the correct reply.

Stream entrant has fulfilled Sila (morality) training and attained to right view. They have some degree of right effort, mindfulness and right concentration. They know that the four noble truths are true experientially, hence the fetter of doubt has fallen away and have unshakeable faith in the Buddha, his teachings (the dhamma) and those who practice accordingly and reach higher attainments (the sangha). The latter are defined as those who have reached the higher 'paths and fruits'.
